The friendly season was wrapped
up in the dramatic hillside & mountain backdrop of Snowdonia at
the tidy & tree-lined home of the Welsh Alliance champions,
although the midges from the nearby River Ogwen enjoyed themselves a bit too
much.
A rough & tumble first half
saw no quarter asked by the hosts, who had one of their lads asked to be
replaced inside the first 10 minutes for being too excitable. Airbus were
always in control but Bethesda looked dangerous on their forays, neither side,
however, creating any real on-target chances, Carl Owen & Danny
Desormeaux going closest.
The second half saw a lot of
changes and the game upped in pace from the Bus' point of view, although
not quite finding a way past the well-marshalled Bethesda defence
until James McIntosh got the winner, picking up a ball that came back to him
from his first effort and gliding home with a slight deflection.
