Show racism the Red Card

Airbus UK Broughton FC held this event on Wednesday afternoon the 13th of May 2009 at the Wings Sports and Social Club Broughton. Attending the event were local schools from the Flintshire area and Jason Webber and Leroy Resenior (former player of and Fulham amongst other clubs) from Show Racism the Red Card.

Also attending were Craig Harrison and Andrew Thomas Manager and Assistant Manager of Airbus UK Broughton FC and Lee Starkey Academy Director for Airbus UK Broughton FC.

The event was a great success according to those who attended the event including Craig Harrison who was included on the panel with the others mentioned and after a DVD was shown there was a question and answer session with the schoolchildren and prizes given out to the best questions received. It is hoped another event like this can be held for the season 2009/2010.

Caersws match preview

This Sunday we go in search of our 3rd league double over WPL teams this season, we have already done the double over Caernarfon and Newtown, and are looking to add Caersws to the list.

They are on the worst run of form of any team in the WPL and are currently on an 8 game losing streak, their last league win was back on January 31st when they beat Porthmadog 1-0 away. They have since then scored just 2 goals in the last 8 games while conceding 18. Prior to that sequence they had a good spell where they were unbeaten in 5 games.

Last night's defeat for the Bluebirds leaves them 4 points adrift of safety with just 6 games left and the face of the drop to the Cymru Alliance is looking very likely for the mid-Wales side. The only thing that could save them is, if the finish in 17th place that there might not be a team from the South Wales feeder league getting promoted, as ENTO Aberaman's ground is rumoured not to be up to WPL standard.

In our previous meeting this season we had a good 3-1 win over Caersws back in the middle of November, but our record at home since we were promoted to the top flight doesn't make for good reading, in the 4 matches at home to Caersws we have lost 3 and drawn 1, and only scored once against them while conceding 9. But all those stats won't count for now't come kick off on Sunday.
