Wingmakers held by Everton

Airbus UK Broughton continued their Pre Season preparations with an entertaining match against a youthful Everton XI, Everton`s management team of Andy Holden and Alan Stubbs were again very complimentary about the ever improving facilities and surface at the Airfield. A crowd of 350 witnessed an entertaining game played out in somewhat blustery conditions, despite this both sides endeavoured to get the ball down and play football in the right way.

Manager Craig Harrison used an almost Full Squad throughout the match with the only absentees being Keeper Kristian Rogers, Midfielder Danny Desormeaux and new signing Andy Moran who are all expected back into the Squad from next week onwards.

Notable performances during the first half were those of Ashley Williams and Matty Woodward whilst in the second half young Jake Cassidy and trialist Richie Dorman caught the eye of the neutrals. Cassidy getting his Debut Airbus goal with a 20 yard bullet into the top corner.

The fitness levels of the squad continue to improve as Harrisons squad takes shape and the manager will be pleased that there are no new injuries concerns after what was the Wingmakers 4th Pre Season fixture, and with Rhys Roberts and Carl Owen featuring more after injuries as Pre Season intensifies the Manager will no doubt have some difficult decisions to make come the start of the season in finalising his Squad for the inaugral Super 12 Season.

Callum Hawthorne Ex Swansea Trainee put pen to paper after the game and Harrison agreed a deal with Colin Quirk for the forthcoming season.

Next up for the Wing Makers is a trip to Porthmadog FC next Saturday 2.30pm whilst the Strong Reserve side take on Corwen this Wednesday at the Airfield with a 7pm Kick Off.
