THE Wingmakers hit top gear as they recorded a convincing 8-1 friendly win away at Vauxhall Motors.

With all but Ashley Williams returning to the side after holidays, Airbus are starting to look like a side that can mount a serious challenge in the Huws Gray Alliance next season. Ryan Edwards thumped the opening goal after 10 minutes and Wes Baynes soon added another when he pounced on loose ball.

Motors pulled one back through Sean Keyes, but Leo Riley drove a low shot into the net to send Airbus into the break with a 3-1 lead.

Aaron Bowen headed the fourth from a corner as Airbus started to run riot with three trialists getting their name on the scoresheet along with Airbus youngster Liam Schofield, one of several Under-19s to feature prominently in the later stages of the game.

This was an all-round encouraging performance from the Wingmakers with several new signings yet to be announced.
