ANDY Thomas was a relieved manager after getting a monkey off his back with a first Airbus win since September 24, defeating Bangor CIty 4-2 at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
"I think we deserved it, I thought the performance was excellent to be fair, we've still got work to do on defending set plays, but they were the only chances really they had," he said.
"It's the first time I've brought three subs in to make a difference, but I thought the workrate of every single player was outstanding.
"If you look back at the last game against Bangor we should have been more clinical and we should have beaten them last time.
"We've played well in most games but we haven't got what we deserved in some games but today we did and credit to the lads."
Thomas was also pleased with the performance of his three new signings: "Glenn Rule gave us that calming influence in midfield with a bit of leadsership, I thought Pearson in goal gave us a presence and experience and hopefully there will be another two or three additions. We've got two weeks now to get players in.
"After playing Bangor last time we came into this game to win it, we knew we could beat them, we know we can beat anyone on our day.
"We were just taking each game as it came, we knew we could win this game today, it's a great three points."
