MANAGER Andrew Thomas was disappointed with the final scoreline against TNS, but took plenty of positives out of the Wingmakers' performance.
"Their goals really disappointed me, but overall I thought we played well and maybe deserved something out of the game," he said.
"But it's always difficult against a good team. It was a great start but it was backs to the wall at times, they are a great team on the ball but that game isn't going to define our season, our season starts on Saturday.
"I said to the players that, if we conceded, we had to keep going, it's hard work but I took some positives so we're just going to work towards Saturday.
"From the start of the season I think we have improved every single game."
With the injury list already mounting Ryan Fraughan, Ryan Wignall and Ashley Williams missed the game, with Jake Hulley and Zebb Edwards handed full Welsh Premier debuts, while Josh Maldon got his first experience in the top flight as a late substitute alongside another Under-19 product, Rhys Jones.
"We've got a [Nathanial MG Cup] game on Tuesday but the physio is with quite a few of the players now so we are struggling for numbers at the moment," Thomas added.
