THREE Wingmakers will make a nostalgic return to their former club after Airbus stepped into the breach to give Chester FC a pre-season game on Wednesday night (Lookers Vauxhall Stadium, 7.45pm).
The Blues were let down by Bolton Wanderers who cancelled their friendly visit to Chester last week.
Tony Gray, Matty McGinn and Ashley Williams are all current Airbus players who made their mark at Chester and are fondly remembered by Blues' fans.
Gray had made his mark at Southport and Droylsden before signing for Chester in September 2012 and netted 14 league and cup goals in 33 appearances for the club during his one season.
McGinn was a double title winner having playing a major part in Neil Young’s side’s Northern Premier League Premier Division and Conference North successes.
And his championship-winning wonder strike against Northwich Victoria secured promotion in front of 5,009 fans, the highlight of 22 goals in 84 appearances for the Blues.
Williams spent three years with his hometown club after leaving Airbus in January 2011 and went on to make 85 appearances before returning to The Airfield three years later after winning won Division One North, Northern Premier League and Conference North medals, scoring twice in the process.
