AFTER two consecutive defeats at the hands of Llandudno and Newtown, director of football Andy Preece is anxious to get some of his injured players back to full fitness.

"Tom Field and Chris Budrys are carrying injuries and maybe you can't fill little holes in and get away with it for as long a period a time as we have," Preece said after Tuesday night's latest reverse.

"So we need to get players back fit as soon as possible, to give lads a rest or to be able to freshen up a little bit.

"We've just go to work a little bit harder, I don't think there is a lot wrong, but our intensity and our pressing is just not what what it was over the last couple of seasons and we've got to get back to that."

Three second half goals in 15 minutes ended any hopes of a result against the Robins and Preece said: "It is disappointing, they have hit us just after the break with a couple of goals.

"The first one, Jordan Barrow has just missed his clearance and the ball has pretty much just hit Jason Oswell.

"The game was looking like the first goal was going to be important, I thought Newtown did really well, they came here and pressed us and made it difficult for us.

"But we just had to be patient and wait for the opportunity, we got in a few times in the first half without creating too many clear opportunities.

"But to concede that goal so early after half time just seemed to knock the stuffing out of us a little bit and it just looked like the game caught up with a few of our lads.

"We get good results now and again but not consistently. You can make excuses the lads are a little bit tired but that's the same for every team and credit to Newtown, they've come and done a job on us really.

"We've got to be able to stand up to that, we just felt a little bit sorry for ourselves when the first goal went in.

"It's alright 3-0 down taking charge of the game, but we've got to do that from the start."
