ANDY Preece has played down newspaper speculation linking him with the managerial vacancy at one of his former clubs, Wrexham.
The Wingmakers' director of football has been priced as low as 11/2 by bookmakers Corbett Sports to fill the role, behind favourite Frank Sinclair.
But Preece, who is under contract at Airbus until 2016, said: "If you're doing well in your job you'll always get linked to others.
"If the opportunity came up to go full-time again the club wouldn't stand in my way, that's always been my aim but there has been no approach."
Preece meanwhile was delighted with his side's performances in a 1-1 home draw against full-timers TNS on Saturday and a 4-2 away win at Bangor City on Tuesday night.
"Tuesday was a really good performance," he said.
"We were pretty comfortable the whole game, they didn't really cause us any problems and I don't think they had a shot on goal until they scored. We just had a made couple of minutes.
"We opened them up quite regularly and there was some clinical finishing, we could have scored more in the second half."
The win lifted the Wingmakers 11 points clear of third-placed Rhyl and Preece added: "We are in a really strong position now and we're a good side.
"We'd drawn a couple of games and lost at Rhyl but every time people start doubting us we bounce back.
"To get four points from TNS and Bangor is massive.
"We've just got to keep on winning and stay as close as possible to TNS. If we do that second will take care of itself and you never know, if TNS slip up we've got to be ready."
