THE Wingmakers prevented The New Saints from opening-up an eight point lead at the top of the table thanks to an 82nd-minute goal from Chris Budrys at Park Hall.
The 1-1 draw keeps the Wingmakers in touch with the leaders and they also have a game in hand against Gap Connah's Quay next Friday.
TNS got the perfect start when Alex Darlington nodded home in the third-minute from a Chris Jones cross.
The visitors had two opportunities to level in the first half with Andy Jones heading wide from a corner and Budrys narrowly wide with another headed effort.
The Wingmakers continued to push forward and Ryan Wade volleyed wide from just inside the box.
But it was TNS who almost increased their lead when keeper James Coates could only parry a fierce shot from Chris Seargeant and Greg Draper's shot from the rebound went just wide.
In a good spell of pressure before the break, Sam Hart forced a great save from home keeper Paul Harrison.
More pressure from Andy Preece's side in the second half ended with Ian Kearney going close to an equaliser with a long range effort that just went the wrong side of a post.
Sam Finley nearly got another for TNS after dribbling his way past defenders but fired over the target before Chris Marriott drew a good save from Coates.
But, with eight minutes remaining, Budrys tapped home after a goalmouth scramble to secure a crucial point for Airbus and keep their title hopes very much alive.
