THE Wingmakers' first-ever taste of European football will be in Latvia, after drawing Ventpils in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.
The opposition is no stranger to Wales - The New Saints played the Latvians in the 2007/8 Champions League and were disappointed to lose on away goals after a late Barry Hogan goal produced a 3-2 home win at Newtown's Latham Park.
In 2008, Llanelli also played Ventspils in the Champions League and lost 4-1 on aggregate after a 1-0 win at Stebonheath Park.
The seaside dock town of Ventspils is the sixth-largest in Latvia and is situated in the north west of the country, some 186 km from the capital Riga.
Director of football Andy Preece is expected to name a 20-man squad for the ties, with the home leg in Wrexham on July 4 and the away leg a week later on July 11 at the Olimpiskais Stadions.
If the Wingmakers can progress to the second qualifying round their opponents would be the winners of the tie between TPS Turku of Finland and Jeunesse Eche of Luxembourg.
