THE Wingmakers have solved a goalkeeping problem by signing former Wales Under-21 international gloveman James Coates.
The 28-year-old started his career at Mansfield Town and had spells under the Wingmakers' director of football Andy Preece at both Worcester City and Northwich Victoria.
Coates joined The New Saints for their European campaign in 2004 but was released without being awarded a contract and later made 11 Welsh Premier League appearances for Rhyl in season 2009/10.
Also capped by Wales at Under-17 and Under-19 levels, Coates played at Belle Vue on-loan from Northwich, where he was ever-present in Conference North the previous season and was named supporters' player of the year.
When his loan spell expired at the end of December 2009 he joined Vauxhall Motors and has also featured for Moor Green, Hucknall Town, Kidsgrove Athletic, Burton Albion, Abbey Hey, Leigh Genesis, Vauxhall Motors, Guiseley, Altrincham and Radcliffe Borough.
Jonathan is currently working as a coach with the Manchester City academy.
