AIRBUS Under-19s got their Welsh Premier Reserve League campaign off to the perfect start with a 3-2 away victory over Aberystwyth Town on Sunday.
The hosts took an early lead through a Rhydian Davies penalty in the fifth minute after Samba N’Dong was brought down by Airbus keeper Nathan Williams.
However just two minutes later, the reigning champions equalised when Aber’s Gareth Davies failed to clear and Tom Hainsworth finished well.
The Wingmakers were the better side in the first half and had more chances with Noah Edwards shooting at Aber keeper Dylan Evans and Kris Turner shooting wide.
Airbus took the lead on 40 minutes when Leigh Owens found space 30 yards out and unleashed a strike at the Aber goal which had Dylan Evans well beaten.
But three minutes later and Dylan was the hero as a Jared Jones penalty was well saved to keep the Seasiders in the game.
Only a fingertip save onto the crossbar by Williams denied Aber defender Gareth Davies as he shot powerfully from 35 yards out.
But Christy Gale finally got the equaliser Aberystwyth deserved, as he fired a great free kick from the left into the top right hand corner.
But Airbus got the winner in the 83rd minute, as Hainsworth scored his second, firing a low drive past the Aberystwyth keeper.
And the Wingmakers almost grabbed another when Zy Edwards capitalised on a mistake by Aber defender Emlyn Lewis but his pass to Jordan O’Brien was ruled offside.
