THE club was delighted to hear the news late this afternoon that our appeal for the Club Domestic License was successful and we have been granted a domestic license for the new season. As a result we will be in the Super 12 for next season. We are grateful to LABC for their support in resolving the one remaining issue from our original application, with regard to the safety certificate.
This is the culmination of a number of years of effort and we can now plan for an exciting season ahead with some great matches at the “Airfield”.
Confirmation from the F.A.W. is a great start to our official closed season. Summer work started today on both football pitches and training areas to verti-drain, overseed and top dress. Steve Dolman, Airbus groundsman said, “we hope to have our pitches the best they have ever been by the start of the new season”
The club is also pleased to announce a new “Commercial Director” to the Executive Committee. Stewart Roberts joins us from local club Buckley Town to play an integral part in moving the club forward to compete with the best in Wales. Stewart said, “I am extremely happy to be joining a forward moving Club in Airbus UK Broughton, the achievements over the last few seasons at the Airfield are there for all to see, both on and off the field”.
“I will be doing everything I can to add real value to the Commercial and Operational Standards already in place at the Club.”
“The Chairman and Executive Committee’s goals are both exciting and realistic, and the general committees hard work and commitment certainly mean the future looks exciting."
Stewart will be working hard to increase commercial involvement in the club, and would be delighted to hear from local organizations and companies who wish to be a partner for Airbus UK Broughton F.C. as they take their place among the elite of Welsh Football.
Delight at licensing success
