Major new club-wide kit sponsorship deal

GARDNER Aerospace will supply playing kit throughout Airbus UK Broughton Football Club under a major new deal announced today.

Already the sponsor of the first team home and away shirts, Gardner has signed a two-year deal to cover the whole of the club's academy structure.

This means that every player at the Wingmakers, from six-year-olds through to the first team squad, will wear shirts with the Gardner logo.

Gardner, one of Europe's largest suppliers of aerospace detailed parts, sub-assemblies and total manufacturing services, has one of its five worldwide plants in Broughton, adjacent to the Airbus factory.

Site director Gary Slinger, who is also a football club director, says: "We are delighted to sponsor the future of Airbus UK Broughton FC.

"It's massive, it is supporting the local community and continual football development in the area."

Airbus academy director Lee Starkey also welcomed the generous deal: "We appreciate the sponsorship because obviously it ties in with the first team and all our young players aspire to play for Airbus, so it's a good link," he said.

Pictured at the kit launch are academy director Lee Starkey and Gardner's Broughton site director Gary Slinger with Marcus Roberts of the Under-9s and first team midfielder Glenn Rule.
