MANAGER Andrew Thomas has added to his squad by beating-off competition from a National League North club for the signature of forward Reece Deakin.

The 20-year-old, who can play upfront or on the wing, impressed Thomas when playing for Morecambe Under-21s in the recent friendly.

A former Crystal Palace youth, Deakin played for Cray Wanderers in the Ryman North League last season before joining Conwy Borough in October.
