Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian parents, Alfons Fosu-Mensah is a striker who began his youth career with Zeeburgia, before spells with AFC, Argon and Almere City. He then signed a pro contract with Eerste Divisie club Oss in 2014 and made six appearances.
Mensah then moved to the UK with his younger brother Timothy, who is a first team pro with Manchester United, and joined Southport, later playing for Colwyn Bay, Ashton United, Skelmersdale United - where he scored a hat-trick against Ramsbottom United - North Ferriby United, Hednesford Town and Marine.
